I’m a junior and this is my first ACT, and also my last haha. I was expecting a 32 honestly, but I’m so so happy with this score

i get a 33 on ACT as a first timer and a junior. I heard multiple versions of the “magical number” on ACT (like 2250 on SAT, i suppose), which varies from 33 to 35.
Questions:
1 What is the magical number?
2 are my bad eng/writ grades going to drag my down in college apps?
3 how is the 27 is essay? Does itreflect a 9 or a 10 comparing to SAT essay?

No idea what a magic number is, but honestly 33 is amazing. Your test score is at the point where it’s good enough, being just 1 point or 2 points or 3 points more isn’t gonna do much for ur chances (but it is still an amazing feet). It’s like how if you want to play basketball professionally you have to be tall, but a 6 foot 8 basketball player doesn’t have a better chance of going pro than a 6 foot 6 player. Your test score isn’t everything, and yours is good enough it’s really amazing actually

I am a senior and I will be submitting four applications today! I still have not received any of my ACT scores, and I am from Washington State. What do I put down on my common app if I have not received my new scores yet? Do I just leave it as “1 Future Testing Date”, and then when I send my scores in the college will consider my new score as well?
I just scored a 31 on my ACT. 33 english 34 math 27 reading 31 science. Only prepped for a few days so I didn’t expect anything major.
How much of a difference is this compared to a 2130 though?

My scores are CRAZY skewed. It’s the first time I’ve ever taken the test and did not study one thing. Trying to get a 30+.
34 in ACT is equivalent to 2250 in SAT. 27 in writing is equivalent to 9 for essay.

@NERDYFALCON98 why do you need a 34 for a Californian? I’m a California too, do we get a scholarship or something

Do the writing scores matter?
The highest I ever got on 11 practice tests was a 26, so this was a huge surprise! After over 100+ of studying, I realized that you can do it if you want. Hard work pays off! Good luck to you all!
REMEMBER: There is more to life than an ACT score! It won’t matter at all once you get into college.
