@bobthebuilder13 If you had excellent parallel structure or any other type of eye catching writing style, that may have affected it as well
last day to cancel scores! lol
How lenient do you guys think the reading and writing curves will be?
When are you guys gonna start prepping for jan? Haha
Lol I’m planning on registering for January soon and then canceling (maybe) if my scores aren’t that bad
but in terms of preparing, I’m waiting until post-finals…(winter break ish)
The worst part about the December SAT for me was that finals is 2 weeks away from that date so I barely prepared for the SAT
@glassflowers - A lot of people regress when they’re away from the test for awhile. If you can do 25 minutes a day (alternate between doing one section and then reviewing it in depth the next day) you’ll be a lot better off.
@theskittlebug Sorry dude, but you’re an idiot.
There’s no way you are getting a 2350+ missing 1 or 2 on each section. Maybe 1 on each, but you would have to get a 10 essay at least. Also, missing 2 each section, you’re done. No 2350+. Dude, even missing 2 on math alone drops you out of 2350+.
Sorry to be blunt, just felt I had to let you know that in thay way…heh
I am Uchiha Madara after all
Also, to everyone -
Sorry to be blunt (but not really), but if your dream school is Stanford, drop that ambition right now.
Stanford has the lowest acceptance rate, standing at 5%. To get in, you have to have:
- saved a certain animal population from extinction
- be 1 of the top 3 in any sport nationwide
- gotten both a 2400 and 36 ACT, with at least 14 AP’s, with all As.
Yeah. It is literally 5%.
So drop those dreams.
Just trying to help people out.
…5%, lower than harvard
@satwreckerZ2 Lol if that was the case, no one would get in.
@satwreckerZ2 Hello there Madara Uchiha. I am younger you
SATwrecker is blunt like that Japanese passage lol but correct, having ambitions is great but make it more relaistic so you dont feel all sad and depressed if you get rejected
A friend of mine got into Stanford with a 2250. Don’t know his exact GPA but he took all APs and only got one B.
@satwreckerZ2
I don’t expect to miss -3 or -2… Obviously, I’m hoping for perfect raw scores, but I want to know where I stand if I’ve made a few errors.
And actually, some curves do allow for -1’s in CR and W, at least from what I’ve heard from other people.
Wait guys, there’s a huge split on Reddit about whether the personal invectives question is “dispense…detest” or “condemn…dreaded” and I don’t know what the answer is. I put the latter since I thought the problem said “Although John never ____ personal invectives, he _____ being criticized so much that he wouldn’t even engage in playful arguments with his colleagues”.
The main debate was whether “personal” means John’s insults or personal insults in general. Bc for the former, “dispense…detest” would make more sense, and for the latter “condemn…dreaded” would make more sense.
And @theskittlebug
The CR curve is much more generous than you think. A -2 is most likely an 800, -2 and 1 omitted is a 790.
For Writing and math, the curve is much harsher. A solid 10 essay with a -2 is a 760… Yikes.
@garyasho2 the main point of this sentence completion is to show contrast, and that’s why i put dispense detest
hold up, actually i think condemn… dreaded might make more sense for the contrast
@mochilate1897 No it wouldnt. The sentence would say “Although he condemned his personal invectives, he dreaded getting criticism from his friends”. Theres no contrast there.
ahhh that’s right @krauser126 i guess im good then
what do you guys think -4 or -5 on Critical reading is this time around?
