Got it. Thanks, all. Better late than never that we find a decent place to eat.

Marathon Deli. That’s the only decent place here.

Unless you want to do happy hour in which case Cornerstone has the best deals.

^Happy hour at Cornerstone is great. $5 for 20 wings, $2.50 for a burger and beer battered fries. Delicious.

Restaurants is one thing College Park does not lack but there are so many I guess it can be confusing to find the gems in the haystack so to speak…

My favorites for comfort food are Plato’s Diner, south of campus right on Route 1, as well as Franklin’s, also south of campus and on Route 1 (but a little further, technically in Hyattsville, maybe a 3 minute drive as opposed to 1 minute). Mosaic Cafe is right across from The View (on Route 1 next to campus, student apartments) and it is a very nice sit down Lebanese place in a small shopping center. Very nice atmosphere. Jason’s Deli and Noodles and Co are kind of the “order at the counter, take a number, and have them bring the food to your table” kinda places and are in the same shopping center as Boston Market but 1000x better!

CP does Japanese/Chinese particularly well, I would recommend Yami Yami, Wasabi Bistro, and Kyoko’s if you are into Japanese/sushi/etc. Two are by book holders and one is along Route 1. The seating area is small so you may feel like you are more in a “carry out” place but the food is to die for.

The food here is amazing. That is all ;).

Of all the above my recommendation would be to check out Mosaic Cafe next time you are in town, it is run by two graduate students and is a perfect place for parents/students in my mind. Sit down w/ menus and nicely decorated but not too fancy (certainly a far cry from Boston Market but there aren’t table clothes!), and a nice small business that is probably much better than Olive Garden and deserves your support much more :).

^Hanami (yet another sushi place) has a bunch of seats–it’s a lot nicer inside than you would expect.

Yeah, we like Plato’s Diner too, esp. for breakfast. We’ve been up to Maryland three times and eaten there twice lol. In fact, I was telling my DH about this thread and he couldn’t believe I didn’t mention Plato’s Diner, lol.

In today’s Diamondback: [The Diamondback - Bar and Restaurant Guide](http://www.diamondbackonline.com/news/bar-and-restaurant-guide)

You can also eat–and shop–at IKEA, just north of the Beltway on 1.

Haha…we just had their Swedish meatballs for dinner tonight (bought frozen at their food store)!!! I’m thinking that IKEA probably doesn’t fit in the OP’s category, but it works for me!!!

Has anyone eaten at the 94th Aero Squadron resturant? We are coming Sunday to take my son to dinner, and my nephew recommended it. He graduated 2 years ago, o i was wondering if they are still open and any good. Thanks!

94th Aero Squadron is currently closed I think. That’s what it says on their website.

Thank you.!

suzy13, consider yourself lucky if they’re closed. That had to have been one of the worst meals our family has ever had in terms of food and ambience.
