<p>Because I’m that damn good. Just kidding. (I’m in an arrogant ‘I got into college’ mood).
So my GPA was low, and my SAT was low, and my AP scores were low. And hey, I’m not in the top decile of my class OR Jewish OR a recruited athlete? But I had really strong recommendations that indicated my passion for learning, an edgy essay, and a wealth of extracurriculars. Plus I had an alumni interviewer who seemed to love me, and told me later she wrote a “laudatory” report.<br>
(And being able to pay for college also probably helped things!)</p>
