i applied b/c of Medill. The biggest pros for me are the proximity to Chicago, Medill, the reputation, and the overall positive vibe ![]()
Number one big huge con: the weather…i’m really scared

There goes 5 P.M. in Evanston.

Bah.

yeah I almost applied for Medill but chose McCormick instead. (i know a stark contrast). I chose NU because its close to my hometown of Waukegan and I didnt really like moving from it. Also talking to the associate dean of McCormick pretty much cemented NU as my #1 choice. Plus really want to mark up the rock. ;)

Plumsnow, I heard it from your sister’s friend’s COUSIN’S babysitter’s MAILMAN’S neighbor’s brother’s wife’s colleague, who is an admissions officer. Except I heard 7:45, not 7:43. Good luck everybody!

It could be later because Davidson posted theirs around 9:00 eastern time…

i’m gonna kill something if it’s not out by the time i’m done watching the office and 30 rock.

and I mean PM not AM

Oh, and to answer the discussion question, NU is the only school I’ve been decided on since sophomore year when we had to do college portfolios. I chose it because of its academic reputation and journalism rankings, though I actually have ended up more interested in the communications studies program. The size of the undergrad population is decent, and I made a commitment early on to stay in the midwest. Northwestern’s not my top choice - because I don’t have a top choice, which just means if everywhere offers the same sort of financial aid as I’ve been offered other places (CRAPPY.), then I’ll have a very tough decision ahead of me.

Edit: I also just though of something though - seems talking about why we all want to go to NU just makes the pressure worse. I propose alternate discussion topics - What homework are you avoiding right now? What are your plans for the weekend?

b. I’m avoiding taking notes for history. I am so over that class at this point. And chem. Not good.
c. I’m hosting a (sort of) classic Disney movie marathon. We will start with Lion King, and probably end up watching Phantom of the Opera. I know that isn’t Disney, but who will stop us? Then on Saturday, I have a voice lesson because (oh no!) regional solo competition is in just over a week.

I only found out about NU after looking at UChicago and realizing that it wasn’t for me (and that there was another great university not too far away…)

Mainly the strength of undergraduate engineering and potential research opportunities are what drew me.

it just took about 2 minutes for my email to refresh so i got all excited that it was new mail, but it wasnt anything

its official my email is taunting me

what rhymes with green?
mean lean keen

clearly im bored and it is a very good thing it is second semester or we would all be failing our classes spending all our time on this particular thread

so yeah about senioritis has everyone been infected yet??

^ hellllllllllllz yeah.

im dying

yes definitly…!!!

ugh i was just rejected by both duke and uva. what if i don’t get in anywhere? what am i going to do??!?!?

Man, I just got rejected by Duke too. My first rejection, so it hurt doubly -_-

Of the people who have mentioned UVA recently, are you guys Virginia residents or OOS applicants?

^ I was looking through the Duke forum… yikes. No worries, though, I’m sure both of you will end up at great schools.

So what is the current consensus on the decision time?

there is no current consensus but i’m going to go officially insane if it’s not tonight

rejected from Berkeley…come on NU, help me out

atleast im not gonna die over Nu for the next few hours thanks to Berkeley :)
