Thank you so much everyone. Never give up applying and I know so many people who applied multiple times and eventually got in.
I’m one of the lucky ones who met friends that went to Deep Springs before and truly was fascinated by the education they have got when they spoke about it.
I’ve seen many posts labeling Deep Springs students being condescending and misanthropic. I thought people I met who went there were really smart and fun to be around, a different level of intelligence.
Even if I don’t eventually get accepted, just the experience of living in the village would be a life-time journey. I’m truly thrilled and dear friends never give up applying if you think Deep Springs is where you belong.
Sorry for the late reply, but yeah, it did not bother me all that much. I suppose the impersonal nature of the reply came as a bit of a shock lol. Other than that, I’m very content with where I stand in terms of college. I got accepted to my second choice, which wasn’t nearly as ambitious as Deep Springs, but I do think I’ll be happy there.
I do plan on applying again, but frankly, my academic life is (and always has been) a complete mess. My grades are mediocre at best, and I would probably be pulverized by the workload at Deep Springs. I need to get that under control before I feel comfortable applying again. I’m not sure I’d be a good fit in the first place if I don’t. Perhaps my attitude toward Deep Springs isn’t particularly exemplary of the values they hold, either. Either way, if I do apply again, I’ll be sure to revisit the thread for that respective year.
Congratulations again for your admittance to the second round :). Hope you get in. Your persistence is very admirable.
Yes, I did get an email from Outer Coast. I was there for OCSS’19 and would highly recommend you apply for the summer seminar in addition to applying for the two year programme
