<p>First of all, as I just said, it was not for all majors, but for a lot of them. And secondly, I did not say that all people at or above those scores were accepted, they were the ones reviewed in lots of the majors. Thirdly, I’m not saying this to try and explain away why I was deferred. I thought I was going to be deferred anyways. This has nothing to do with “handling a deferment with grace”. I heard this directly from my regional admissions officer. And also, if you look at previous posts on this thread, I am not the only one who was told this. Also, he said that they only did this for early admission because they had too many applicants to review in the allotted time. They are not doing this for regular admissions as well, it was just that for a lot of the majors, they didn’t have enough time to look at the whole package for every single person and still get their early admissions decisions out on time, so they had to put some people off until regular decision. </p>
