Deferred U Mich Ann Arbor Class of 2021

@Eeeee127 The reality is that admissions is more competitive for everyone. And not only at UCLA. However, an increase in application numbers does not equate to an increase in highly qualified applicants. The Director of Admissions at Princeton made this point a couple of years ago when he said he thought the pool of “likely” candidates had not grown that much.

Ugh people who applied RD have already gotten accepted and already gotten into ross, but I’m still waiting. People got like a ACT 29 in my school and got accepted and I’m still deferred. Idk what I did wrong.

So I applied for in-state tuition back in November and only just heard this morning that my application was approved. My classmate applied for In-state tuition at the same time (we have both spent out of country so they wanted to check I guess) and she received a response that it was approved within a week and was then accepted to LSA in December. I was deferred and still haven’t heard back. Does anybody know if is good sign that U of M actually cared to accept my In-state tuition application near the release of decisions? Or would they do that even if my LSA app hasn’t been reviewed or accepted?

Okay noooooow a girl got into Stamps off of a deferral from my school today. I think Thursday and Friday will have some releases.

@MimiRave unfortunately no, it’s likely not a sign of anything. I had to get the same thing with my in state tuition needing approval. However, tuition standing goes through the Office of the Registrar which would not impact or hint at the status of your application. Good luck!

@c011e9e Okay I thought that was a possibility. Thank you!

Listen…it’s stressful. It’s no over till you get the final notification from the school. Many have not heard, it’s not too late, you are good enough and we’ll all end up at a great school. Stop freaking out people. This is just the start of a long 4 years of stress, so cool your jets, look in the mirror and say “I am good enough” and if they don’t choose you it’s their loss! Anyone for a quick cup of coffee wilst I chill? ~O)

My college counselor sent me this today:
Inside scoop: UM is releasing remaining decisions EA def & RD by Thursday evening. They were up about 8% this year. 49.5% out of state.

Good luck everyone!

@koomsbooms17 Can I call BS on that? I talked to an admissions officer from the Detroit center who said that there’s gonna be a big push to get decisions out in April.

You can BS whatever you want. I really don’t care. I’m spreading news that I’ve heard from my college counselor who’s never been wrong about the data she gives me. I’m pretty sure your admissions officer might not tell you all the correct info as to not promise you anything and let you down. You wanna call BS on that? Do it. You don’t think you’re going to feel like checking WE Thursday? Be my guest.

@UofMorMSU

How sure are you? Sick of the bs from everyone on this site getting my hopes up every week

@MichiganFan111 Honestly if you don’t want to get your hopes up, you don’t have to keep checking. I’m the same way as you-getting my hopes up with every post that gets added on this thread. Yet, I still waste my time on this page and check if anyone has any idea when the decisions will come out. I trust my college counselor a 100%, but y’all don’t have to. I posted as a response for all the people who post stuff like “so anyone think decisions will come out this week?”

Getting the decision on March : great, I can celebrate early!(hopefully)
Getting the decision on mid April: great, I already finish studying AP tests at this time so I can celebrate without any worries!(hopefully)

@Zpower99 Love the positivity! :slight_smile:

@Zpower99 But what if you get waitlisted 8-X

@UofMorMSU sending love lettersssss without worrying about any AP tests

I agree this FRI 12AM Eastern.
How do I know?
Just a good feeling.
Good luck to all!!!

Isn’t that a song? I got a feeling? O:-) =))

So what’s interesting is there are many who are waiting on Notre Dame and Northwestern who also apply to Mich…do you think they are waiting to see if applicants pull their application if they get in there first? What’s everyone’s opinion? I know University of Chicago people who pulled theirs once they got in… :((
