<p>Jjohn you are correct. When NYU sees a comp. sci applicant they refer it to NYU Poly so you become eligible for admission to both schools. If you get an admission packet or e-mail from Poly it DOES NOT mean you have been rejected from NYU. It’s possible to get admission to both schools, and it’s possible to get admission to just one of two.</p>
<p>However, I applied ED2 to NYU for computer science. I got rejected from CAS (felt I was WELL qualified) but accepted to Poly. I have yet to hear of somebody who applied ED to CAS for comp sci to actually receive admission to CAS.</p>
<p>I don’t know if they are saying “Youre not good enough for CAS so go to Poly” or if they’re trying to saturate Poly’s student body with “more competitive” students in preparation to absorb it as an official school. I would assume the latter considering the pretty scholarship Poly offered me.</p>
