democratic school- its great, but am wondering what admissions will think

Why don’t they want you to applying to A/E?

I definitely recommend SPS. It looks like a great school. It’s right up there with Andover and Exeter.

ah, they think its too hard- i thought about st. paul’s too, it sounds great (they had this course about like philosophy and literature of time or something, sounded pretty cool), but the problem is that im applying for junior yr and they only accept literally about 8-10 ppl each yr. honestly, idk thta SPS might even be harder to get into than exeter or andover! >.<

SPS is harder to get into than A/E, but not by much. SPS’ acceptance rate is 19%, while A/E’s hover around the 22% mark. Deerfield’s acceptance rate went down to 16% this year, which is amazing.

damn. i dont know what to say to that.

uknow, for all our efforts, its probably likely that we’ll all get in somewhere- its just a question of where.

at least i hope so lol >.<

on sabre’s comments about A/E
[quoteah, they think its too hard

What is hard for them could be different from what is hard for you. If you feel that you can handle the workload, then it can be a great option. If you have an optimal workload (i.e. no more than 2 hours a day, or up to 4 hours a day) then you can look at schools that correlate with that amount of time put into schoolwork.

just wondering, but are there any homeschool/unschooling applicants out there?

anyone??
there has to be a few of them out there…

ive been wondering, how do prep schools really look upon unconventional schooling?

I’m not homeschooled; nobody I’ve seen on here is.

hmmm… how come you got your scores so late?
or was this thread just bumped up from a while ago?
I took the test in December and got it a week after (16th) in the mail

oh i got it maybe a week or two after the december test date. wow, u really got ur results early!

msu didn’t take it at the normal time. That’s why she got it so soon. They probably sent her scores at the same time as the national test date.

wait what?
isnt it the same time for everyone?!
I took it on December 9th, received the scores on the 16th

Oh, sorry. I think I’m confusing you with someone else.

No, it isn’t the same time for everyone. Some people take it at school at some random date because they live too far away from a national testing station.
