Denied from every college

So a true story for you to consider…

Nephew graduated from 4 yr university with a double major, History and Kinesiology (originally wanted sports management). He did nothing to get internships, network, etc (not saying this is you at all). Upon graduation he saw several friends get professional jobs and he had nothing, so just going to college doesn’t get you that job. He floundered around for several yrs doing menial jobs in restaurants and other venues. He figured out he likes helping people and got a job as an orderly at a senior home (paying essentially minimum wage). He liked the job but not the company. Met a physical therapist who convinced him, at 28, to get his nursing degree. He’ll turn 30 in September and will be a newly minted RN with a great future in a high demand industry doing what he likes.

Start by examining what you like. What do you want to do? What are you good at? What makes you happy? It’s not a straight path for everyone. It’s also not a race. You’ll get there. You wouldn’t be on this board if you didn’t care.

Best of luck!
