Did I blow it?

Our school district (JCPS) has its own online school but is not available to anyone unless they are failing. They will not honor anyone other course on their transcript. I also found out that we no longer offer dual credit options anymore either. Would I still be able to do a virtual high school and have that transcript honored?

Whether your high school honors it and whether the UCs honor it are two different issues. You may need to do whatever you need to do for your school and STILL redo the course on line for the UCs. Honestly, I would call UCLA admissions and ask them. I did that for my kids on a couple of questions when they were freshmen, to find out the UC way of looking at things. I would wait until after March, when their acceptances go out, but then call. I have seen references in UC materials to classes the high school doesn’t accept so aren’t on the high school transcript, so they seem to have a policy on these, but you are getting very much into the weeds of it at this point, and I don’t want to steer you wrong. You can also ask if National University’s virtual high school has been re approved by the UCs as options. Or, look at UC approved providers here and go to their websites to see which have the courses you need to retake: https://doorways.ucop.edu/list/app/home/</a>

here is some stuff showing you can repeat a D, but it doesn’t discuss the online part or what if your high school won’t accept the grade take over if you do it over. (However, I will tell you that the school’s transcript won’t be seen by UCLA until you are admitted. Students self report grades, so you will self report the take over once you know that UCLA will accept it.) <a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

This talks about UC acceptance of online courses (note the internal links) http://www.ucop.edu/agguide/online-learning/index.html</a></p>

However, you need to clarify with a UC admissions person that taking it over will erase the first D even if the high school you are at does not allow Ds to be erased by being taken over, so your transcript from high school would not change. You would still tell the online provider you need a transcript (sometimes they need to know when you enroll) because if you are ultimately accepted they would likely have to send the transcript to UCLA.

However, I THINK it will work, based on this:
