Well sure they do. But that costs money. And protein powder is kinda expensive…

If I were a coffee drinker it would be shooting out my nose right about now. ;)

What hops says… If I did not know anything about the area around my kiddo’s college, judging by her requests, I would have concluded that she was attending a school in the middle of nowhere.

My lab * loved* the lemon chicken the deli @ our co-op serves.
First time I brought it home I put it on the table & went out to see if H was ready for dinner.
When I came back all there was a container that appeared so clean as to be brand new!

Happy Birthday to Sabaray and Momofwildchild!

I have lost 6.6 pounds now. It has been 3 weeks.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Five Pound Party time for Eddieodessa’s 6.6 pounds! Congratulations. Break out the noisemakers, the party hats, and the balloons!

Congrats, EddieO! That is great progress!

WooHoo eddio! You go girl!
For an introductory 5 pound plus party, we’ll give you a special light up boa so you look snazzy on your walks
[Light Up Boa - Multi Color Boa - Red LED](http://www.lightgod.com/product/9635-boarnbw/Light-Up-Boa-Multi-Color-Boa-Red-LED.aspx)

I finally have a kayak date with neighbor friend tomorrow. I am looking forward to getting out and getting to know my own river area! The trip downtown on July 4 had started at a popular put-in near a friends house south of here, so ive never actually even gone down my own river access. Since I won’t be able to recognize our access area, we’re first going to mark it with some cloth ribbons. There would be nothing stupider than being unable to find your way out  And the trees are thick along there.

(I can kind of picture the call now to mch…it would be fodder for constant teasing, I assure you.)

In other news, while I refuse to call it a 5 pound party when it was sponsored by riddiculous and protracted indulgence, I am back to where I was 30 days ago so from here, onward to my 50 goal  I’ll have to bear in mind for future trips that 10 days vacation equals 20 days of work :)

Woohoo eddieodessa! Great job!

If I didn’t know better, I would think that my D and BunsenBurner’s D went to the same school! My S on the other hand who really did go to school in the middle of nowhere never asked for a thing.

On the exercise front, feeling a bit down. My knees ache, they ache all the time :(. I took the last 2 days off but I did walk 9 holes of golf last night. The knees still hurt. I think I will walk again today at the trail or on the treadmill. Of course the forcast says no rain, the radar shows no rain but it’s raining out. I feel so discouraged.

Very nice boa, kmcmom13!

Congrats eddieo!!! Way to go !!! I am so excited for you as I know you have worked so hard for that loss. :)

High five for EddioO!!! Five pounds plus an extra 1.6!!! Keep it up!!!

Plantmom, the lemon chicken sounds delicious! Even at 8:30am!!!

Deb922 - any idea why your knees ache? Too much too soon? Pavement or ground that was especially hard to run on or uneven or something? Shoes??? And it’s both knees, not just one???

Awesome job, EddieO!

Congrats, eddieodessa!

Yay, Eddie. Love those parties. Talked my way into a free birthday drink on my very delayed flight last night! Got to PA house and had a big slab of my birthday cake which my sister had just made for me. I’m going to need that long run tomorrow!

4.6 this morning on my beautiful path here in PA.

Happy Birthday to sabaray and MOWC, late as ever to the party!

Abasket, it’s both knees and joint pain. No idea what is wrong. Tried new shoes already and I’ve ran on the treadmill, bike path and a trail. Keep trying new things but it’s not helping.

Nice loss-EO. Happy Birthday to all!

Visit to the doctor was not good–he told me that I will probably have chronic cellulitis and that I should do as little as possible. I almost started to cry. It felt like a life sentence to a wheel chair and I’m a healthy person except for this darn ankle. I have appointments to see two ankle specialists about having the hardware in my ankle removed. I think that’s at the root of the problem.

Meeting friend for a short walk today–fall in New England is my favorite time to be outside. Crazy thing is that it doesn’t hurt at all when I walk.

Oh, no Brom! :frowning: Sending good thoughts and fairy dust your way! I am glad you are getting a second and third opinion. Stay strong!
I know what it is like to have chronic pain. Keep walking if that works for you!

Bromfield, hugs. Hope the ankle specialists have some encouraging things to say (and to do).

Bromfield, I’m glad to hear you’re going to see a couple of specialists. I think doctors sometimes do not realize the weight of their words. Some have excellent people skills, but others don’t, and just as there are other people who talk of negative situations in terms of “always”, which can make problems feel bigger or more long lasting than they may turn out to be, I think there are physicians who may say things unthinkingly that are less than completely accurate that way. I’m thinking of the book Adversity Quotient at the moment. Unfortunately when a physician makes a pronouncement, sometimes possibly not even meaning to, this can affect what a patient does, which in turn can affect outcome. I think it sounds like a good idea to hear another expert opinion or two, to see what options you have and maybe get some more ideas on what you can do.

Eddie O, good work!

EddieO, congrats!

Bromfield, I’m no expert on New England doctors, but I do wish you the best of luck! Don’t take no for an answer!
