Thinking of you MOWC and sorry to hear of your loss.

Sorry about your loss, MoWC.

Thanks, everyone. I’m going out for a short run and into work a little late. Will take a few days later in the month to travel to PA for the memorial service. Cycle of life…

MOWC, they can do without you for a day. My guess is your boss will tell you to head home or won’t mind at all if you decide to leave early.

Sorry for your loss, MOWC. Take care.

My boss is out of town, but had told me I could go work from Phila if I wanted (when Mom was on last legs) or take off. Very flexible. I’m trying to hang in here because I go to Vancouver on Thurs and will only be back in the office 1 day before Oct 20! I’ll leave early. It actually is better for me to be here at work.

Depending on your personality, you may just need to be BUSY. Sometimes its not so much about work needing you, but you needing work. I’m sure you will do what works for YOU.

LOL. My boss just called me from Florida (business trip) to make it clear that I needed to take some time off and could go home, leave early or do whatever I want! I DO like to be busy, and I will be more anxious if I head out on my trips leaving clients in the lurch. It’s less stressful for me to keep up with things.

MOWC, if I were your client, unless it were a very urgent situation, I’d prefer you hold off working on my case because you’re probably in shock right now.

Well, I don’t really do “cases”, and I just had a fun business lunch, so all is well. Not in shock- just sad and adjusting. If this were sudden it would be a different story. May try to run a few more miles after work, but it’s pretty warm today. Vancouver will NOT be warm! I have to remember how to dress for 40s!

3.1 mi tempo run on treadmill at the gym. Still raining outside.

Glad you have a supportive environment, MOWC. You need an assistant? I’ve heard Tennessee is a nice place to live!

Well, Sunday rolled around and I did not feel like doing 11 miles. So I had a quiet day walking in the park with Sabadog and H. Nice 3 miles or so, then some training exercises with the pup. Yesterday was brutal as it was the end of the month at work so finally got that closed down and then went to the gym for around 6.41 treadmill miles while playing around with the incline. We’ll see if I can get back on track to do a longer run. For now I am just glad to have met my 10 mile goal for September. I’ve set a long term goal of losing another 20 pounds, which would be a huge stretch, but I need a goal. Not sure what the running goal will be for October.

Well I finished off September by making my bday month goal - a total of 54 miles ( my new age)- a majority running but also several miles of walking at a 14 minute average pace) . Took down to the last day but I did it!

The goal for October is a minimum if 8 mile running weeks and somewhere in there, a 4 mile run which would be a PR for me.

Tent up. Coffee brewed. Single malt scotch cocktail. Sitting at the Woodstock inn for dinner.

Q tip hike today. Short two mile stroll around a tour bus tourist attraction. Flume gorge in franconia notch. Peak foliage. Beautiful weather. Nothing but old people in cardigan sweaters and bright white sneakers. Looked like a conga line of q tips.

Real hike tomorrow. Mid seventies and Sun. Foliage is breathtaking.

Looks awfully pretty in any case. Happy hiking, iDad.

Very pretty. It,s been on my list. And as much as I’ve used franconia notch state park I’m happy to give them fifteen bucks.

Love the Q Tip designation!

No evening run for me today. I ran out of town. This is going to be a light week, but that’s OK.

It’s a south Florida term. When following a car of retirees on I95.

Applies to leaf peeler tourists in nh too.

Yay abasket! A 4 mi run would be a personal best for me too - maybe we can work up to it together!

Sorry about your mom MOWC. I’m out of town until Friday. Today I went for a quick 2.4 mile run. Before I would use the excuse that I needed to pack but today I told myself that exercising needed to happen. Went to a great seafood restaurant and had wine. Good day.
