Ahhhh… thanks for clarifying. Kind of like the things you put under heavy furniture to reposition it! And yes, I couldn’t see it in the video.

In fact, some people use the furniture thingies instead, they are a lot cheaper:

Inchworm.

There’s also a reverse inchworm. From a standing position, bend at the waist to touch the ground. Walk the feet backwards until you are in a fully extended pushup position. Then, walk the hands back to the feet and stand up.

It’s one of my favorite warm-up exercises because it stretches just about everything…

Thanks, interesteddad.

This is the one we do in class with sliders across the floor and reverse when we hi the wall.

Those sliders, man. They make me find new muscles I’ve never knew I had before. I know when we had a sliders intensive workout class, I couldn’t rotate my entire leg without intense muscle soreness in my hips for THREE days. It was awesome.

Teri- I love my Valslides. You should get some. They don’t take up any room and you can do a few sets during a TV commercial! It makes the core stuff more interesting!

4.1 mile treadmill run

Inverted rows, flexed arm hangs, T-pushups (just a few), reverse fly (the nice bench at an angle there to do this), 3 pt rows, bench press, tricep kickbacks, bicep curls, SLDL, goblet squats, leg swings, quads stretch, reverse lunges.

Long workout. I was feeling inspired after yesterday’s day of rest. :-)

For these inchworms, is the intent that the feet have to be completely flat to the floor?

Yes, the goal is the have your heels touching the ground and your feet as close to your hands as possible.

3.9 mile treadmill run, a la Jeff Galloway. I usually stretch and plank after running; I warm up by walking for 5 minutes.

Maybe I can use my Moving Men that I got for moving the fridge! :)

Those round ones will be a little small, but they should work well enough.

5k (old guy) PR on treadmill tonight! My running friends say it doesn’t count unless it is on the road and officially timed. Going out to eat and celebrate . Might even ofer fries .

In my books, running on a treadmill is harder than running on roads etc. Congrats!!!

That was order (typo) fries. Actually for me I think a treadmill is easier. You are at a forced pace and if you slow down you fall off!

Rest day for me today although I did 5 of the inchworms just to see if I could do them. It wasn’t easy. Dug out the Val-slides–I got them a while ago, but haven’t used them much because I’m almost always working out in the gym. I keep trying to do stuff on my own, but I’m not successful. I’ll start and don’t continue. I think part of the problem is that I don’t have a good, open space. I keep saying I’m going to clear out a space in my garage (we’ve got 2 cars and 3 bays and the garage is heated). Going to try and figure out how to create a good space for myself and see if I can do just 1 day a week on my own. Idad: do you come up with a list of exercises before you start to workout in the World’s Greatest Gym?

Ohio, we have confidence in you, but how’s the treadmill doing? Are they having to call anyone in to do repairs? ;-)

Definitely. I even have [magnetic clips](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41qd3Zt-cWL._SY300_.jpg) at each end of the DB racks, so I can hang my printed workout where it’s handy (in the old gym, I had a nail that I spiked the workout on). I have two alternatiing workouts right now, so I just leave one clipped to each magnet and use one or the other depending on the last workout I did.

When I went to Planet Fitness, I always took a printed workout sheet with me and put it next to my water bottle and sweat towel.

Life is good:

a) Punched the clock with my usual Friday workout. I substituted KB swings for the hex bar deadlifts, but otherwise just another day at the rockpile.

b) After my workout, I completed a fix-it project (replacing a pull-chain utility light fixture in the storage half of the basement that broke) with only one trip to Home Depot for the parts and no snags.

c) Baby back ribs for dinner!

Down to the basement for an hour of TRX. Then going to finish reading Essentials of Exercise Science for Fitness Professionals. Last 8 pages deal with, of all timely topics, physiological adaptation and flexibility training. More on that later.
