Outside run - me against the wind. I made it home still breathing so I guess I won. :)

Fingers crossed, MOfWC.

abasket, do you also experience this weird phenomenon: no matter which direction you are running, you are always running against the wind?

Well it’s rare that it feels like I have the wind pushing me along!! Wouldn’t that be nice!!!

My EKG (exercising) is abnormal. I think I’ve been told that before. It normalizes as soon as I stop. He said it isn’t a concern, but that I’ll have to remember that for the future if people freak out about it. He didn’t see anything bad on the echo pictures, but it hasn’t been officially “read” yet- will get that tomorrow or Monday. Sounds like I passed!

Sounds like a preliminary pass to me! Fingers crossed.

Workout today with trainer–we did TRX (row, push-ups, lunges, squats) interspersed with cardio stuff (up/down stairs, knee lifts on a step). Followed up with 30 minutes on the elliptical. I was really wiped out today. I usually workout early in the morning, but today I had to change my schedule and worked out at 4 pm.

Good results MOWC!
BB: my H is obsessed with grilling and when our Weber bit the dust, H bought a charcoal grill called the Big Green Egg. He loves it–last summer he used it to smoke bluefish (which he caught).

Bruce protocol makes me feel like I’m George Jetson walking my dog (raise your hand if you’re old enough to remember)! Glad to hear that everything seems to be ok MOWC.

Yes, good news, MomWC.
I slog through my brief incline phase of my hill (10 to 15% for about 700 feet) every morning at a snail pace of 2.2- mph in the winter and 3 - 3.5 mph in the summer. I’d probably die if someone made me RUN it ;)

Fortunately, after the incline, there’s a gentler trail awaiting so I can catch my breath.

I am definitely going to have to get my hands on a chainsaw…went up this am and that downed tree is a TOTAL PITA to get over.

The arm was good enough to go but it may have been the Australian Dream talking :)

On the UCan SuperStarch drink. Do NOT try to pour the packet into the tiny mouth of a plastic spring water bottle. My office now looks like it snowed!

Had a 7am meeting today, so I’m now starving and will have to run at lunch. The UCan tastes pretty good, though.

kmc, ouch! If we were your neighbors, Mr B would be out taking care of that tree with his 2 chainsaws in no time!

MOfWC, thanks for the warning about the powder! Good to know that it tastes OK. I will have to get some because I’m so tired of all those Gu brews etc.

Oh. Yeah. I figure the UCAN will only work in a blender bottle with the spring ball shaker. Or, for hiking, I’ve got one fhese thermos bottles with a couple of big 3/4 diameter stainless steel springs to work like shakers – the Blender Bottle shakers were too big. I’m guessing that this stuff is better cold or at least more chilled that four hours sloshing around in backpack on a summer day!

The Blender Bottles are incredible. If they can make unflavored psyllium husk drinkable, they can probably make anything smooth enough to choke down. I just don’t trust 'em in a backpack, where Murphy’s Law reigns supreme. If the top can come off of something, it will come off.

Basement for me last night. Fun workout. Box jumps. Sumo squat presses. Push up posittion rows (man are those hard). Stability ball mountain climbers. Single Leg Deadlifts (working on better form). TRX pushups. DB front Squats. And, single arm rows.

Spinning class today–I was glad when it was over. I got my heart rate up and burned calories, but I was just hanging on all through the class.

Lifting tonight. Then tomorrow and Sunday, 60 mile rides with my favorite Sturdy Girls and their coach. Gotta get prepared for my 4 day Habitat for Humanity ride starting June 5. Got to get in those long back to back rides now or I’ll be a hurtin’ turkey!

I strolled down the basement and did a quick kettlebell circuit. Six each on the left side, then six each on the right side.

KB deadlift
KB Snatch
KB front squat
KB push press

That’s one set. Rest 2 minutes and go again. I hung in there and did four sets.

Now, I’m finishing up oysters on the half shell with Bobby Flay’s ancho chili cocktail sauce for an appetizer. Fresh cod filets in white wine and butter sauce with broccoli on the side for my main course.

Wish there was an Idad restaurant in our town. Those meals sound great.

Mile repeats tonight on the treadmill. 8:00/7:30/7:00/6:30/ 5:30. Weather’s been cool so I haven’t been out on the new bike . I don’t cycle or go to baseball games unless it’s above 70 degrees!

Hope all is well, MoWC.

Rain, rain, and more rain today. We got out for a two mile walk before sushi dinner.

I’m with Ohio on the Idad restaurant!

I want to come to your house for dinner idad!

ohio…you would have a long wait here to get to over 70 degrees!

I think we need a CC Exercise thread retreat to Chez IDad! My echo-stress was normal, so I’m good. He did caution that if I ever feel shortness of breath/chest pain etc to NOT think I am guaranteed to be fine since I had the normal stress test! He said plaque can dislodge and cause a blockage at any time. You still need to pay attention to symptoms.

Terrible eating day- gloppy Mexican food with my boss and co-workers, leftover Easter candy in the break room, church dinner group with wine and Lemoncello liquor …

Did get 4 miles in after work- nice 65 degree run.

My first real run since Boston - 3 wasy miles. It felt good! :)

I was MOfWC’s eating twin today since all I ate was crap, but alas, that did not include lemoncello or wine. Impatiently waiting for the new grill.
