Diet/Exercise/Health/Wellness Support Thread

Bunsen- you beat me to it! I was going to post that but I was caught up in my baseball world series game! The RUNSIE lives on! However, I did order both the running bra and the wunder unders in that gorgeous floral print.

I sort of want to wear that RUNSIE,…but not out in public!!! More like while lounging and watching tv or reading on the deck - IN PRIVATE!!!

I will send an imaginary $20 Bill to the first person that posts a picture of themselves wearing that at a public running event.

I think Ezekial bread might be reasonably good for you. I don’t worry about bread since I only eat 1/2 a something (bagel or Eng muffin usually) first thing in the morning, or roll or two of something when we go out to a nice restaurant which is not more than once or twice a month. I do like bread.

I get enough cr@p about the dresses and skirts from some of the more “elite” runners. A RUNSIE would do them in! (not that I’m actually running or anything…) I think it would be cute for loungewear.

Another breadaholic here. “Recovering” breadaholic is a misnomer. We’ll always be breadaholics!

MOfWC - love your avatar! ;)

Thanks! I’m hoping I can change it soon!
The Runsie would actually be great as a swim suit cover up- if it didn’t cost $98!
I already said that I ordered the flowered capris last night (felt guilty because I’ve been buying a lot during this injury stint). I thought they would see out fast. Sure enough- hardly any sizes left online today, so I’m glad I got them.

I started working out this week after 6 months off after suffering an injury which shouldn’t really have resulted in cessation of all physical exercise.

It feels so good to sweat, feel blood flowing and air going in an out of the lungs in pace with intervals. WHY did I stop exercising!!! Shakes head and vows to do better…

Nrdsb4:

That’s the paradox of exercise. Now that I’ve been doing it, I feel old and stiff and sore when I go a couple of days WITHOUT exercising.

^^^^^Interesteddad, I can attest to that as well in my observations as a nurse. People who have spent the better part of their lives being sedentary are the ones in wheelchairs, bedridden, with terrible mobility, numerous ailments and illnesses, and in general, terrible quality of life. They tend not to be as happy or positive as those who have spent their lives being active.

I view exercise not as a way of extending life necessarily, but as a means to a vital, healthy life while living.

3 mile run at the beach today. I do not see a Runsie in my future. Too many logistical problems ;))

The Runsie is adorable! I wonder if it would work for a long-waisted person. I have a lot of trouble with one piece swimsuits and the length.

Of course I’m a bread addict too. I justify consuming it by making my own whole wheat loaves. Any white bread that finds its way here is as tempting as a dangling chocolate bar, or a bag of goldfish.

I went to the gym this morning for a 1.5 mile jog/run followed with a strength workout and stretching. H and I walked 2 miles tonight in the 90 something heat. Blah.

I did another 5K trail race tonight. I didn’t walk on the long uphill that attacks me at 2.75 miles usually, so maybe that’s the trick. I improved from the same course by 1minute.

Regarding the running onesie … If I have to do an emergency bathroom stop, I worry that I would get tangled up! When I have to go, my bladder doesn’t know that my shorts are now a onesie.

MOWC … Shopping online is good recovery therapy.

Nrdsb4 … Welcome back to a good sweat.

To the basement for me. Good solid workout. The only problem is that I got a late start and finished too late to fire up the grill for the pork chops that were my only dinner option. So I ended up with a huge dinner salad… after a huge lunch salad. Sheesh, it’s almost a plant-based diet – except for the big hunk of blue cheese and the spicy italian salami in the salad!

Met the Runsie in person - that thing is definitely not designed for running. I can totally see myself wearing it while leisurely strolling along the beach in Maui, though. But I am not ready to spend the $$ on it!

Not much exercise is happening here this week because of work. It is interesting that my body adjusted its energy needs accordingly - I have not felt hungry. Had a cup of yogurt and some cherries for dinner last nigh, and skipped lunch altogether today.

Humidity and storms had me opting for the gym yesterday - track and treadmill and a little rowing. When I combo them all, the gym becomes bearable!!!

I have to say the Runsie is cute - it reminds me of 1940s swimsuits. I feel like I should lounge around in Rita Hayworth poses. I can’t imagine running in it though!

Maybe I’ll stop by Lulu and meet it as well this weekend. Maybe I can go in crutch-free!

I had a breakfast meeting at a really good restaurant and, as usual, I ordered more than anyone else. I found that I got full quickly, so I only ate half my omelet and biscuit! Progress!!!

Lots of runsies on ebay…just sayin’…
