^^^^ Now THAT"S my kind of romantic! A farmer’s market surprise!!! (also cool that you have a Monday market - most here are Weds-Sat - nothing early in the week.

MOWC - how are you doing with the low hr running. I’m Still around 12-13 pace at 135-138 HR for 5 miles in a little more than an hour. Going to increase to 6 miles. Hope that I start see improvement in pace . Frustrating.

God, I could only aspire to run at a 12 mph pace for an hour!! LOL. I’m all yoga’d and pilate’d and strength-trained, but I’m kind of cardio deconditioned right now!

^ Pretty sure that’s 12-13 minutes per mile, not miles per hour.

Yep! I did the 10 1/2 at 13:00 pace, which had lots of walking. I think without the heat and humidity it would have been more like 12:30. I was 2 beats over the 135 with 137. I just couldn’t keep it low enough in those later miles and run at all, It takes some time for the pace to come down. Every little incline sends it up, too. I’m sticking with it, but it sure makes the runs take longer. Tonight I did 3.2 after work and it was a little cooler (81) than last week’s evenings. I averaged just under 12 at 134. No walking, though.

deb, hang in there! If it is just a pulled muscle, the rest and Vit I will do the trick soon.

It looks like it is going to cool off here, too. Spent the entire Sunday pulling blackberries and trimming overgrown laurels. My gardening muscles hurt today! :)

My bad! Yes, 13 min per mile, not mph!

A nice 2x mile walk through the city up and down hills. Finished the day with a 3.5 mile run - it felt really good to be able to fit so much in one day in addition to working my tail off.

Sending healing mojo to deb922!

MomWC, I think said heart might have stopped if it wasn’t in my throat…but it was all so fast I barely had time to be terrified until AFTER

I think I’ll have to start wearing a cowbell or something!

Bunsen, sounds like a good ‘fit’ day.
PG and Deborah, welcome back ;)

Took the plunge yesterday and purchased all the new replacement or additional equipment I will need for my in-home training studio. That was the fun part. Now comes the tedium of the cosmetics and decor. Anyone want to come over and help remove 750 million ceiling tile nails and remnants of ceiling tiles that I started to remove 25 years ago but for some reason never got around to finishing?

Took last night off from working out. After my kamikaze bike ride last Thursday, lifting Friday, the 8 hr TRX instructors course on Saturday and a 68 mile ride on Sunday, the only thing I exercised yesterday was my wallet!

Any tech gadget people going to be tempted to get an iWatch for their fitness needs/tracking??!
http://www.apple.com/watch/films/#film-fitness

Nope.
My Garmin is bought and paid for and does a fine job of telling me that I’m running wrong. :)

In health news… Eating protein is fantastic for your heart!

$350 and you need to have an iPhone?

Not happening.

It doesn’t appear to have a camera, so no Dick Tracy-like video calling.

I have a hard enough time with my iPhone - have no idea how I’d manage the iWatch.

I was wondering how much all of this new stuff was going to cost - thanks, NRE.

I will start saving my pennies now for the new iGadget. I love that stuff as even average runners need to know numbers to track our average progress.

I will wait for the iRing or iNecklace. :)

The watch is not a GPS, so to me it’s useless.
I’m going to get the iPhone 6, though.

Back to 90 and humid after work today. I’m not doing well at all with this weather, but it’s due to change in a couple of days.

Seriously, no GPS?

I admit if I had an extra $350 to waste I’d be happy to give one a try. Love those kind of new toys.

Long walk last night, run tonight. 10 miles pavement total in 3 days - that’s pretty good for me!!

It is supposed to be used in conjunction with your iPhone, which does have a GPS.

What, you don’t lug your iPhone along when you are out running? ;)

I never take my phone, although many runners do. It’s probably the longest I’m away from my phone in a day. I get the shakes if it isn’t within 3 feet of me.

Forgot to mention that son’s girlfriend did not defend her world championship in Mt. Tremblanc at half ironman worlds. She had an unfortunate mechanical issue on the bike at 49 miles and lost about 12 minutes or more. She went ahead and ran down enough women to move from 50th to 17th in the age group. She ran a 1:27 half marathon. She was devastated. WildChild was sort of a jerk about it since it was very preventable. She needed something called a chain keeper (the magnet from her power meter got caught in her chain or something) which he had told her- and she didn’t know how to fix it, which would have taken 20 seconds. She’s leaving her last year of med school to go pro for a season, and he feels like she needs to know how to work her bike. He has a point, but he could have been nicer. On to Kona…
