Anyone know what time the race starts?

I wonder if anyone wants to join me…

Sabaray, I ran 4 virtual miles with you today, did you hear me? You go girl! Doing great! Now you only have 22.2 more miles to go lol! I helped you from going out too fast! Now I’m hoping we can get more virtual miles from the gang here! Running, biking, walking, even doing those dreaded burpees!

4 miles, ran a golf course. 23 degrees out (hoping your race was a little warmer sabaray!). First time since it got cold that I felt good. I guess my lungs are finally getting use to this cold air.

I listened to what I felt was a good podcast today. I’m not quite sure how to link it. http://anothermotherrunner.com/2014/11/15/136-size-best-selling-author-ted-spiker/ Podcast on the another mother runner with Ted Spiker, a formerly 'ol fat guy with lots of good advice.

I’ll help! (I think her race is tomorrow?)

Sabaray, in your honor I ran as a Running Buddy this morning at our local Girls On The Run 5k- so I’ll contribute 3.1 to your CCBuddy total- now at 7.1!!! May the woman of today, like you, inspire these young girls to take care of themselves - mind, body and soul to be awesome human beings!

(It was 19 when I left the house for this race. My hands were numb for most of the race - going to need some better running gloves or something! I was a general “running buddy” giving encouragement along the way. A young dad and his little girl with her super hero cape in front of me, paced me! Special kudos to the little girl who made a quick u-turn on the course to grab a hug from her cheering grandpa. <3 )

Abasket, when it gets so cold, gloves just don’t work for me. I have mittens for cross-country skiing in lower temperatures, and they keep my fingers much warmer than any gloves.

Go Sabaray!

I think I still have some of those BB- will have to give them a go - I kept trying to curl my fingers like mittens would do to eat some feeling back in my fingers!!!

I am a marathoner. More to come!

Woohoo! Awesome!

Congratulations!

:D/

Yay!!! Party time!!!

Can’t wait to hear all about it!

Excellent! It’s in the books!!!

Congrats!!!

Yay sabaray!! Congratulations!!

Congratulations!! Great accomplishment Sabaray.

Guys, today ranks as one of the best days of my life.

30 degrees at the start, which was great for me. I wore a short-sleeve dri-fit, running pants and a pullover dri-fit. Gloves and a hat. We got off to a good start, doing 5/1 intervals, continually reminded each other to slow it down. Beautiful course, through some gorgeous Richmond neighborhoods. Terrific crowd support, well organized water and powerade every two miles for the first twenty miles, then every mile. Beautiful course which included just enough hills to keep things interesting, running along the James River, some bridges which were just horrible because of headwind, but it was a great course!

We had family and friends everywhere - between the three of us running the marathon, there were plenty of cheers and encouragement from people we knew, but the crowd was terrific! Our bibs had our names on them, and it was just so awesome to hear people encouraging you by name (particularly in the latter half of the race).

I just downloaded my Garmin data and my slowest mile was mile 25. My calf was cramping, we were separated, but then it was the finish and did I fly down that hill to the end! Our splits were consistent throughout and I finished in 4:55. xx. I really struggled the last 6 miles, but I think that’s to be expected for the first marathon. One of my partners finished about a minute ahead, and the other about 10 minutes after, so we were all happy.

Now I am going to go eat a giant hamburger and drink a beer.

deb922 and abasket, thanks for those virtual miles! I felt you carrying me along. I cannot wait to do another. It was awesome.

4:55!!! That is terrific! Congrats!!! :)

“Now I am going to go eat a giant hamburger and drink a beer.”

That’s exactly what I did after running Boston. Awesome plan.

Nice job!

Congrats Sabaray!!! I did miles for you too, this AM. Thinking about you often through 7 miles. Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah!!!

Soooooo happy and excited for you, sabaray! What an accomplishment! So proud of you!
