Sabaray, I wonder if that was not a traditional Lulu store but one of the “showrooms” or whatever they call ours. Limited stock, limited days open, limited hours. I really don’t get the purpose!!!

I tried on the Conquest - I need a stability shoe, and that is what they recommended. Loved the cushioning, but the pinching at my little toe wasn’t good in the 9.5 and it felt like I was swimming in the 10. Recommendations are welcome - I need another pair of shoes in rotation!

abasket - it’s a traditional store - not a pop-up. I’ve been there before and had great service - that’s why today was such a downer. I felt like saying I’m not a 250 pound manatee anymore! Help me out here!

But you’re right - it is a showroom. Looks like I’m going to end up driving an extra hour to shop!

4 miles at a somewhat leisurely pace. Felt good!

I was surprised to go in our Lulu showroom last week and see that they still had a markdown rack - the place is pretty small! Just a small suburban old downtown spot. That’s where I picked up a beautiful sweater for D2 for 1/2 price!

I have to admit when I go in the showroom I feel “sort of” like an old geezer - the showroom seems to be manned by fit 32 year olds with long straight hair exclusively!!!

I do no give a rodents behind about our how good our 25 yr old Lulu SAs look. I just tell them I’m looking for shorts for running Boston B-) Kidding. No, our Lulu ladies (and guys!) are very sweet and super helpful. One was very patient while fetching like 5 or 6 different leggings, one pair at a time, for me. Especially at the BelSquare store, which you would think would be just the opposite, since it is a fairly chichi mall.

The LuLu showrooms are put in to test a market. We hear a lot about the Lulu model and strategy since I work for a retail company.

I have heard other complaints about Lulu staff being somewhat arrogant, but I’ve always had pretty good experiences. My local store is awesome and they are really helpful.

Sabaray- the Conquest (which I have) is my least favorite Hoka and really is an to firmer than most of the other models. You might want to try on the Brooks Transcend. It has a stability component and is a great shoe,

I personally felt that pretty much all of my Hokas provide great stability and cushioning. I have not bothered moving my Superfeet insoles into any of my Hokas, but my Brooks definitely needed them.

Eked out 6.2 miles this am (still gloomy) on tired legs for a 36 mile week.

3.5 miles. Cold out, no surprise there.

MOWC shamed me into running. 6 miles.

LOL. Glad to be of service! Did an extra mile on the dreadmill before playing on my Jungle Gym so I have 37 for the week. Maybe I can hit the 1300 for the year.

[-X Naughty MOfWC! Please be careful!

(I know. I would do the same if I were so close to a goal).

Bumping up the weekly mileage from 30 to 35 shouldn’t be that difficult, but it seems to be for some reason. I felt really tired this week. I hope I adjust. It’s only for a few weeks. This goal has been adjusted down a couple of times due to the 8 weeks off from the stress fracture, but 1300 seems to be reachable unless I get sick or something.

Anyone here familiar with Octane ellipticals? Thoughts?

jym, we have them at our gym and H likes them. He played hockey in college and likes the different types of movement - side to side, etc. Don’t know that he uses any of the programs or just makes it up as he goes along.

I am not going to try to get to 1200. I am too far off and am having a really tough time getting back into a routine. I also underestimated how tired I would be after the full - of course when I set the goal I had zero intention of doing a full. This has been a big year for me.

sabaray- I found that fall marathons that happen close to the holidays are hard to recover from. The weather gets cold, you are tired, and motivation just seems to slip.

Now she tells me!

Well, I’d better get it in gear. I like beer and hamburgers too much.

thanks, sabaray. It was recommended as taking up less space than some others.

It’s smaller than a treadmill, but it’s definitely not smaller than the conventional ellipticals at the gym. I’m not smart enough to figure out all the different options - perhaps there’s a different version for home use.
