I do the exercises twice a day. Usually in the morning and then in the evening – but I will put off doing them, especially in the morning, if the pain is better than usual. I have some work projects that require careful concentration, so those projects get moved to the top of the to-do list when the pain is better. Then when the pain comes back and I can’t concentrate, I’ll do the exercises.
Someone posted in the “Say It” thread asking if that thread was the longest CC thread - not by a long shot! 11K thre, 53K responses here! How amazing is that?! (clapping for Sabaray) 53K times someone wanted to comment, ask, respond, question - whatever - 53K times!!!
11K has NOTHING on 53K.
(and if you look at views, 1.4 vs. 1.5 million views I believe. So for those 53K posts, apparently we are enjoyed by many!)
Amesie, my daughter was diagnosed with a piriformis muscle issue – she was practically immobilized with pain, although she wasn’t offered the option of shots.
She went for PT, which she found useless. What helped her was seeing a personal trainer, who gave her exercises that strengthened the muscles in her legs and back.
This was 6 years ago, and she still has occasional pain although nothing debilitating.
Not sure that helps you at all, but thought I’d relay the anecdote.
Fireandrain brought up an excellent point. Not all PTs are created equal, and some do not deal with this type of pain often. When I needed PT for my wrecked knee, I chose the clinic associated with a big athletic club and asked for the PT who specialized in runners. That was a good decision in the long run.
Abasket - Maybe someone could make a movie or Broadway play about our thread if we’re that popular! I would want to be played by Robert Redford.
Ohio- you need to go a little younger on that! As for me- how is Calista Flockhart’s running?
I liked him in the Natural. He looks 60 to me!
Go with Robert Redford about 30 years ago and you’ve got a deal!
I claim Jennifer Garner.
Ok changed my mind. John Goodman for 6 years ago and Matt Damon for current life.
Mr. B’s former boss thinks I look like Meryl Streep. Hmmm…
Charlize Theron as FG?
Sylvester Stallone for me? Lol. He does have roots in Philadelphia
I’m going with Bridget Fonda.
I think Oprah could play one of the non-obsessives.
Connie Britton as sabaray.
Who for iDad?
No, scratch that.
I ended up taking another visit north after the death of a family friend. Did the marathon trek through Ohare yesterday, including the steps between United’s B and C terminals and a sprint out to the end of the F gates. It poured rain and stormed this morning but I was able to get in a 5 mile run after the skies cleared. Eating…not so bad, except for the s’mores :). I’m trying to be a positive influence though. My mom is out on the driveway doing the
Fitbit Cinderella thing.
Worked until 12:20 this AM. The upside is that I ran 3.8 yesterday AM before work and logged over 17K steps. Missed yoga this AM, but plan to take a nice walk before going in (late).
Hope your workload lightens FG! Good for you getting out there and fitting in good movement!
So sorry about this unplanned trip PlantMom.
Joined the morning club this morning and ran before work. Temps are in the 90’s this week with humidity and no breeze - evening runs were not going to cut it. Still, it was 70 degrees and almost 90% humidity this morning at 5:45am - that and a pup walk and a LOT of sweating out of the way! Enjoying my homemade iced coffee now and AC.
“Ran” yesterday and this morning - having to change my routine somewhat for a special friends running event on Saturday - so will be trying to get in a long run tomorrow before work. It’s getting harder and harder to control my HR - I just want to run fast (for me, anyway) so badly. Weather hasn’t made it any easier.
