3 miles on the treadmill before work.

I then had an "unexpected " workout. I had to go downtown (DC), to pick up S’s new passport (long and complicated story). My boss was going to a meeting at our main office in the city so she offered to give me a ride. We had to detour due to traffic and did not go past where I was heading so I ended up walking from our main office to the passport place and then back. It was about a 5 mile round trip, but I was in comfy shoes and the weather was beautiful. And I have over 20K Fitbit steps. Oh yeah, I also got the passport.

^^^Win-Win!!!

My daughter had the stomach flu about a month ago and I was by her bedside quite often. I cut up fresh ginger daily and boiled it to make tea, added a little honey and drank it twice a day. Along with dousing my sauteed spinach in garlic, I managed to avoid catching the stomach flu. I’m convinced it was the ginger / garlic that kept it at bay!

This winter we “copied” a delicious hot drink we had at Zingerman’s in Ann Arbor - we made a simple syrup with lots of ginger and sugar. Then added a couple tablespoons of that to hot water and lemon and a a few strips of the boiled down ginger. It is AMAZING! Good when you are sick - or when you’re not! We all got addicted to it.

Did two yoga classes today–flow class followed by a restorative class. I usually exercise during the day but today I went at dinner time. I was really tired so the restorative class was great.

^ I refer to my Sunday Restorative class as my favorite 75 minutes of the week

We’ll have to name that the “passport workout” - great job.

In spite of my resolution to rest, I ended up going to an express Barre class at lunch yesterday - actually felt better. No running this morning, Reformer class after work which I am looking forward to. Time to walk the pups.

I thought this was a great article re: men and Pilates - really outlines the benefits of Pilates for everyone.

I think Pilates is truly a great form of exercise.

Sabaray- you seem to have knocked that bug out fast. Good work!

5.1 struggling miles before a road trip to the Atlanta area. A legal conference at a winery- what could go wrong? It was warm and humid this morning (and a little windy) and I felt terrible the whole way. This is my only chance at running today, so I stuck it out. Tomorrow in Georgia might be stormy, so I might be stuck with an early morning run on the hotel treadmill. Ugh.

fishnlines – I really believe in ginger and garlic at the right time to ward off a cold. Plus zinc tablets.

abasket – that drink sounds so yummy!

FallGirl – hope your DS appreciated your help! Glad you had comfy shoes on.

Got out and did 5 miles this morning. Phone said 50 degrees so I just wore a long sleeved top and over the knee leggings but it was cold. Felt good though.

Happy with mornings like this. Woke up early and talked myself into getting out of my warm bed and onto the treadmill, telling myself “…only 2 miles, that’s all you have to do…” And I ended up at 3.6. Felt pretty good but still wishing it was more springlike so I could be outside (see Rant above). Finished that up and took Pup out for a quick 2 mile walk before getting ready to head into the office.

Hard to get out of bed, but I feel so much better for having done it!

Sabaray–at my gym there are almost never any men in the Pilates classes. I think the perception is that these forms of exercise are too girly–or like the article says–real men don’t do Pilates or yoga either.

Finished a 3 mile walk today. Was going to do Orange Theory at noon, but class was full. Signed up for an evening class.

JustaMom – you took the words right out of my mouth: Hard to get out of bed, but I feel so much better for having done it!

I was almost going to go back to sleep again this morning but I made myself get out – and I was glad I did.

You logged a lot of miles today!

^^ too bad I wasn’t wearing my fitbit, it’s like they never happened, lol

We are driving to Georgia for a boondoggle- um, conference and I did well with my steps for the first few hours/ planning the rest stops etc. This hour isn’t going to work because my husband was not amused when we left Taco Bell and I was walking around the parking lot before getting in the car.

LOL, MOfWC! Safe trip. A conference at a winery sound nice.

As I already mentioned, we finally got what we bargained for. Mr. B is very excited that there are more stairs in the new digs (house came with a finished basement that has an exercise room!). Plus, there is a projects galore that will keep us climbing ladders etc., so no lack of steps or stairs. I am freaking out because my Fitbit is too pretty to be worn during all the dirty work we are planning.

Ran and went to the fitness class. Getting back in the groove. My right knee is a little tweaked/soft, so I have to keep an eye on that. It is fine to run on, but lateral movement makes it complain.

BB I missed that – you got the house? Yay!! And it sounds like you’ll both get a nice workout there.

Yay, Bunsen! Congratulations!
