Differences between USC and UCLA

I wouldn’t compare the schools. Simply state what you like about USC and why it is a fit for you. The fact that you are applying already tells the committee there is something “missing” for you at your existing school.

Don’t try to impress them with your knowledge - they already know they are a great school. Thousands of transfers are applying to USC.

Instead, focus on what you would like to gain in your academic growth, and what you might add to the student body if admitted. If your desire is about the community - then think of it that way. Not what you can “get” but how the environment fits your vision of a college experience.

Also - I’m not clear how a minor in screenwriting would work - but I do think you should focus on your primary major not the most sought after program for a minor. It may look like you’re using your major as a backdoor way of accessing the Cinematic Arts school - which rarely works, from what I’ve heard.
