I just read over one of my essays for this scholarship and I found a grammatical typo! It’s not one of careless one, but one of those ones that can be easily overlooked. Hopefully they overlook it…I hope there aren’t more…I’m scared now.

Any idea how many finalists they choose? (Sorry if this has already been asked)

@OHBOI SORRY, SORRY! The number of finalists varies from year to year, but the number of SCHOLARS is always 1000. Because not everyone gets selected who is a finalist (we had 3 from our school last year and no one got it…hopefully I’m the first)!

But yeah, it definitely varies from year to year depending on the applicant pool…correct me if I’m wrong guys…

I don’t know if you are familiar with the QuestBridge program or not, but on their website they say a 3.3 is equivalent to a 87-89. Here’s a link to where I found that: [QuestBridge College Prep Scholarship - Frequently Asked Questions](http://questbridge.org/cps/faq.html#application)

If you click on “Filling out the QuestBridge application” in the bulleted list, it will take you right to the section on computing your GPA.

I however applied for the Questbridge program and was a finalist but something crazy happened. My counselor forgot to send my transcript so I did not get match with my choices. But Notre Dame my #1 allowed me to forward my application to EA and I got in!

Ok, I was looking around at last year’s page and African Americans and Native Americans were notified beginning March 9. Hispanics were on March 10. I didn’t do enough searching to figure out when Asian Americans were notified, but I read that 2 years ago it was a week after everyone else.

My D was a Gates Scholar 2 years ago. As far as the timing goes, each subsection of GMS is administered by a different agency. The timing is just random for whenever they get the decisions out. You can’t base it on previous years. Frustrating…yes! Good luck all.
