<p>I checked my mail, e-mail, and even called GMSP and there is still no reply. I’m so nervous.</p>

<p>I’m guessing it is not today. I just checked my mailbox and nothing was there from gates. Looks like its another day of anxiety.</p>
<p>I even tried checking early by calling 1-877-690-4677 and pressing 1 as a “Gates Scholar” to find out my ID Number (like last year’s scholars did) but it turns out that Gates’ Reps. found out about it and they stopped it. I think packages will start arriving tomorrow.</p>

<p>yea it looks like people are starting to find out because i entered in “gates millennium” on facebook and it showed random status posts by people. and i saw that some people’s status said “was awarded the gates scholarship” blah blah blah</p>

I did the same thing you did (Facebook search) & one girl is my friend’s sister who got it about a WHILE AGO and her status was “I love being a Gates Millenium Scholar!” Not because she heard news today, but because she is still getting benefits in GRADUATE SCHOOL. Lol, the other post was St. Olaf College News [St</a>. Olaf College | News](<a href=“St. Olaf College | News”>St. Olaf College | News) and it talked about previous Gates Scholars that were rewarded the scholarship in 2006, 2007, 2008, and last year! Phoua Xiong ’12, Serena Xiong ’13, Mai Tong Vang ’10, Vue Yang ’11, Kosaizee Yang ’11, and Kia Her ’12. </p>
<p>So basically, I’m freaking out as much as you are, so don’t worry about it too much! (: We’ll see what happens soon!</p>

<p>Soo… its turns out that the little ceremony I talked about earlier wasn’t so little. My principal had both the president and vice president of the UNCF come to my school to award 7 students from the District of Columbia the scholarship. It was sooo epic. He said that we were the first ones to be notified so i’m pretty sure everyone else finds out tomorrow. We received our packages and everything. IM SOOOO HAPPY!!!</p>
<p>Good luck to everyone that’s still waiting. I have faith that regardless of whatever happens, you all will be just fine.</p>
