Oops,@dietz199, sorry. Miele’s technical support says about a TB of detergent, does the pod hold about 1TB? If so, it’s OK. He said excess detergent will gum up the drain.
@BunsenBurner, does half a tablet work just as well?
Worked well! Can’t see any difference. 
Dietz - i think I mentioned that it was a finish tab. Kitchen shears cut through both red and blue parts.
^^^ Thanks for the clarification. I’ve decided to order a batch of the Miele pods, will be here in a few days. I think they come to about I know these machines really do not need the standard amount of detergent and can actually suffer from the over abundance.
I’ll cut up another Cascade pod to measure the amount of detergent, not sure if it’s more than 1TBS.
So I’ve been using the Miele pods for a number of wash cycles. Wow, holy wow…huge difference. Half a pod is plenty. The dishes are cleaner than they have ever been and there’s no sludge left in to bottom of the machine. Consider me a convert…
I get dishwasher pods (Finish powerballs are what I usually buy) but I have trouble cutting them in half. Many times I wouldn’t get them very evenly in half and the red center part would crumble.
Any suggestion on how best to do this?
