do college students text message during class?

<p>I don’t use my phone during class…but the one time I did answer turned out to the be the call of my mother in the hospital. So I just packed my bags and ran. (Oh and I did leave the room to answer it).
Now I don’t care if someone has a phone there texting on. It usually doesn’t bother me at all because I’m paying attention to the prof and not them.</p>

It’s hard to detect sarcasm in writing, and it’s even harder to detect it when all you have to judge from is a short Internet post. I mean, think about how long “A Modest Proposal” is! Swift gives you ample time to realize, “Oh, wait, this isn’t meant to be taken literally!”</p>

<p>Having that said, I can only conclude that oldelecdude is being sarcastic.
