I am not an admissions officer but having sent two kids off to college, I can add my two cents. As you already know, you will need to bring up your ACT score unless you decide to apply to schools that do not require standardized tests (S Lawrence, Bard, Hampshire, Bowdoin, Bates, etc). My daughter found the Official ACT Prep Guide (big red book) to be very helpful. It takes discipline but based on your transcript, you can do it. You need to take ALL of the sample timed tests in the book. Where you find you are weak, go back and study these sections in the book. The more actual tests you take, the more familiar you will be with the pacing of the test. If you find a particular area (i.e. higher level math) is bringing your composite down, you should get some tutoring. Secondly, your “resume” does not tell us much about your passions and strengths. Have you developed a developing interest throughout high school (i.e. art – based on your screen name?) Most applicants will have high GPA’s and AP classes. Are you a leader in any of the clubs you indicate?
