<p>Backing up data is a good idea, but you really only need a backup of current work. Here are a few ways to do that:</p>
<p>(1) Get a USB memory stick. They’re pretty cheap now, and really handy. It’s about the only thing I use anymore for data transfer.</p>
<p>(2) Keep current files on your network drive. If anything happens to it there, OIT has its own backup system and may be able to recover the data.</p>
<p>(3) If you’ve got a lot and you’re sure you need to back it up, make backups at the OIT New Media Lab. They’ve got DVD burners and sell media for them.</p>
