Do I Stand a Chance at a Top-Tier School?

I don’t think I’m being pessimistic at all. OP is in the top 10%. That is really not competitive for Columbia at all. Same with harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, etc. Cornell is a bit easier, especially early decision.

I know you’re only being realistic but they won’t know my class rank anyway. I read a book in which an Ivy admissions officer said that when rank isn’t available, they place more emphasis on test scores. Although the officer said that this actually hurts most students, I think it’ll work in my favor.

Bumpity. Any more thoughts?

Top schools have a way of determining where a student falls in the class if no rank is provided.
