Do I still have a shot...?

if aren’t red flagged as an applicant, meaning you have lower than a 3.3gpa or a 1300 on the sat, i’d say you’ll have a good of a chance as anyone else that applies to ucsd that has plus or minus lower or higher scores than you.

if this will give you any piece of mind at all, compare yourself to me.

3.74gpa weighted
1620 sat’s
800 us history sat ii
770 chemistry sat ii

ONLY one COLLEGE approved class freshmen year… haha, it was ceramics. i wasn’t into school back then.
no honor classes soph year.
3 ap courses jr year.
5 ap snr year.
8 cc classes, all A’s.

i absolutely HATED HATED HATED the sat reasoning test. i tried SO hard my first time, you have absolutely no idea, that i just said ‘screw it’ when i saw my absurd score of a 1620. then october senior year i thought i could take it again because maybe i had just gotten naturally smarter some how. and guess what? got a 1580, i wasn’t too happy. story of my life. the test just wasn’t made for me. my advice is if you’re like me and TRUELY already tried your best to get a good score once and maxed out your efforts, then it’s a waste of time to keep try again in vain. concentrate on other things like taking a bunch of classes at cc’s or take a bunch of ap’s rather than studying a bazillion hours like me for the sat reasoning. don’t stress out about your sat score, it doesn’t help you one bit.
