Do most people put their full middle name on your diploma?

It just I see alot of people is using middle initials now. Seems more professional. But I guess high school diploma is pretty useless anyways.

What looks more professional? My friend told me that its not professional to include your Full middle name on things like resumes. But for diploma, is do most people use the Full middle name? Which is considered more professional?

Nobody cares or even knows what is printed on your high school diploma. What matters is that you have one. I’ve never even looked at mine since I graduated and put it away.

Your question intrigued me so I went and checked. On my undergraduate diploma it has my full middle name, and my graduate diploma it has my middle initial. Now I want to go see if I can find my high school diploma.

Well I mean for diplomas in general. It look more professional to use the middle initial instead of the full middle name.

And lurkermom, if you undergraduate and graduate diploma have a middle initial on one and a full middle name on the other, wouldn’t it not match on computer systems? Or is Full middle names and middle initials generally considered the same?

Got me, both diplomas have my maiden name which I haven’t used in 28 years. I suppose that if identification is a real issue, they would need to go by more than just name because some names are just so common that even with the full middle name they would not be unique. As for professional use, like on my business cards, I just use my middle initial.

Maybe fingerprints and biogenetic material and retina scans will be in inbedded in your diploma in the future. This is the only way since more and more identifications is being mixed up.

Are you trying to forge a diploma or something?

No I’m just wondering what looks more professional? FULL middle name or just middle initial on high school diploma?

Actually - all the name matching will be verified/clarified by the use of your social security # - or other federally acceptable form of ID - and many applications - schools, jobs, military, etc… will also ask for any variations of your name that you use for identity purposed - otherwise known as…

There are many a college student who actually use their first initial - full second name and last name on college diplomas - and/or using ones middle name is usually a personal choice. Then there is the situation of when one gets married for the gals…

You know, the middle initial is sufficient. I don’t see the need for the full middle name (I hate middle names).

I really hope that I don’t have to put my middle name on my diploma. I have a really rare first name, so I doubt that anybody in the country has the same first and last name as I do. My middle name is extremely weird, and it would suck if I had to spell it out on my diploma.
