Do they offer a good tutoring program?

There is a lot of assistance here, but I just want to clarify a common misconception that a lot of students seem to have. Mount Holyoke doesn’t really offer developmental coursework or intensive tutoring like what you might find at your state university or something like that. The help is absolutely here – you should feel plenty comfortable about coming here and getting the help you need – but our students are expected to be pretty self-supporting and self-advocating. You need to go for help; it won’t come looking for you like in high school. So to answer your question about there being a formal tutoring program for first-years, no, there isn’t one, but there are countless resources and opportunities available to you. And, if nothing else, there’s always office hours; our faculty members are ridiculous easy to meet with. :)
