Do UC's look at your 1st semester grades for admission???

The UC’s base the admissions decision solely on grades in A-G UC approved classes taken in 10th and 11th grade. However, senior year course choices do factor in a bit, just not grades. (in other words if you suddenly sign up for a schedule of woodworking, PE and fun in senior year, that may be held against you.) You do have to send a final transcript showing all 8 semesters of grades at the end of the year, and, in rare cases, a severe drop in grades senior year can result in the offer of admission being revoked. Best bet for detailed information about the UC admissions process is (1) your guidance counselor or (2) the UC admissions page at <a href=“Admissions | University of California”>www.ucop.edu/pathways. Best of luck!
