<p>A colleague of mine recently got married and our boss attended. However, our boss is more like a mentor to her than just an employer. We work in a small company so everyone knows everyone else pretty well. </p>
<p>When I got married I didn’t invite my boss or any colleagues (different employer). We had a very small wedding and only invited family and a few friends. </p>
<p>I think there are cultural differences at play too. Where I worked in China (Shanghai) employees always used to invite their employers to weddings (and other celebrations). It was a mark of respect from the employee. Employers could cause employees to lose face if chose not to attend after receiving an invitation.</p>
