Im a midwest mashed potatoes girl. I too prefer a garlic smashed type.
One of my favorites is sour creme crust mushroom pie (recipe from Bon Appetit magazine).
We have family members who are diabetic (they wont do certain veggies because too high in sugar), some are vegan, and a couple are super picky and wont barely eat anything (he brings his own sausages to grill or fry up).
Oh and Kings Hawaiian dinner rolls are popular here as well.
