Do you do save or splurge of common household goods

More from me. Dawn foamy is best for us as H would use the same volume of liquid- ie x times as much for hand washing things. I like foamy hand soaps as well- easier to rinse. Want full size paper towels, not the ones I may get half of the square I want… Bath and Body Works doesn’t have the skin moisturizing quality of Dial. WHY do they think Greek yogurt in body wash is better??? Changed when the previous type no longer available.

Anyone else notice that when you like something and could use it forever someone in marketing decides they need to change/freshen the product?

Farmer’s Markets do not always sell local produce- there was a big article/expose not too long ago in the local paper. Even some farms that were not growing anything lending their name to products sold at stands.

Does anyone here make their own laundry detergent? I have before and it is very economical.

@wis75 – about Farmer’s Markets. It’s true that the produce isn’t always local. On the flip side, Farmers Markets have forced grocery stores to be a bit more competitive and to offer local produce. I often find produce at my grocery store that’s from the same local growers you find at the Farmer’s Market – but at a fraction of the price. I still patronize Farmers Markets – but I’m under no illusion that I’m getting something much better, or at a better price. I simply like the fact of them, the vibe, and the fact that they pushed the grocery store to be so much better than it used to be.

In our area I actually know many of the farmers personally. Country life

I deal directly with the organic farm stand–I can see the fields from the stand. I really want to support these growers because they could easily sell the land for houses. The folks who run the farm have owned the land for over 60 years.

CT may have passed a law that all produce at farmer’s markets must be labelled with info on where it came from.
