I don’t think there is summer research program dedicated to incoming freshman, although there are several academic orientation programs:
[EXCEL Program Helps Prepare Incoming Students: McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern](http://www.mccormick.northwestern.edu/news/articles/article_742.html)
[Summer Academic Workshop: Office of the Provost - Northwestern University](http://www.northwestern.edu/provost/about/reporting-units/saw.html)
But I doubt this is what you are looking for. I know a lot of kids (including myself) who did research/internships the summer before coming to NU, just mostly not at NU. Since there are a huge amount of external internships, I highly recommend you considering this an option. Otherwise you will just have to email individual Northwestern researchers and pray. Once you come on campus, you can ask professors in person.

Also, I don’t know how you can be certain that you are the entering class of 2015…
