I’m Muslim so in our religion animals like Dogs and Pigs are considered as najas. I think it’s okay to pet a dog…not really sure but it’s not encouraged to touch dogs in general. The problem really is if you end up getting the dog’s saliva, tears, or any excretment whatever from the dog onto your body or clothing. If that happens…you have to wash yourself 7 times. Also may I add, Muslims aren’t allowed to have dogs as pets or keep them in the house because of obvious reasons & your house won’t get blessed because the angels won’t enter. However, we’re allowed to keep them outside of the house for protection…like a guard dog.</p>
