Do you make new year resolutions? If so, what are they?

Resolve to make a work change in 2018…new part time position (first interview today) or retire in July.
Take more advantage of local cultural opportunities…timed entry tickets for the Museum of African American History in hand for 1/12/18
Continue to share the gift of my time…2x monthly shifts at local food bank

Putting me, my happiness and health at the front of the line. Continuing Orange Theory, tracking food, weighing every day on my Withings scale (blue tooth enabled, all family members can see so we cheer or nudge each other along). Continue losing weight at whatever rate healthy eating and frequent exercise bring me. Not saying yes to every request for help or time. I can’t is a complete sentence…no excuses needed oft times. Being kinder than some people or situations actually deserve, because the act of being kind makes me feel good.

I guess 2018 is a selfish year. At 50, it’s time for me. I will attempt to not feel guilty about it.

I can’t is a complete sentence…

Good one, @shellz

Over the past few years, my self-discipline has taken a hike. I gave myself a pass because life really has been hard with my son’s illness and the lousy economy. But now things have stabilized and I need to kick myself in the pants! So I am going to repeat “Discipline!” to myself several times a day and get my act together. Exercise, work, etc. We’ll see how it goes. I know it’s all up to me.

I had resolved to eat better this year, but some fool had brought in 2 dozen Dunkin Donuts this morning to the Family Resource Center where I volunteer. There are only 4 volunteers most days - today we have 5.

I guess I kept my resolution, since I ate the better tasting ones…
