Justamom–
Also search with “Robin’s Holys first season” (all 109 of them) Holy repetition, Batman!

Also…“Batvillians from A-Z”

Otto Preminger was Mr Freeze. Holy has-been Teutonic directors Batman!

Thanks, mantori. Obviously I caught those four episodes. (and I need to check out IMDB).

I’m addicted to it. Not as badly as CC, but close.

I saw Eartha Kit do a show in San Francisco in 1995…she was amazing…
Loved all the Batman episodes and watched them religiously as a child. I know everyone loved Nicholson in the movie but I kept comparing him to the “real” Joker. The Riddler was my favorite…his outfit with all the question marks…hysterical.

I’m so suprised all of you were as nuts for the show as I was. Cheesy was the best part of its charm!

I really think my “boys” would get a kick out of having a Batman marathon with me. They liked the movies, but I think they would really love the old tv show!

I only saw the first movie and found it to be too dark and depressing (as I recall). I think I was expecting the “Cheesiness” of the TV show.

At the summer camp I went to, when it rained, sometimes they showed us the movie-theater Batman serials from the 40s. I remember liking them a lot. Film noir style, somewhat closer to the modern Batman (although much less conflicted) than the 60s era Adam West pop art version.

The banter between Batman & Robin was so endearingly corny:

Batman: Better put 5 cents in the meter.
Robin: No policeman’s going to give the Batmobile a ticket.
Batman: This money goes to building better roads. We all must do our part.
*
Robin: If we close our eyes, we can’t see anything.
Batman: A sound observation, Robin.
*
Robin: Let’s go!
Batman: Not you, Robin. They have strict licensing laws in this country. A boy of your age is not allowed in a drinking tavern.

I think it’s called the Batusi.

The villains were played by lots of great stars. In addition to the ones mentioned, others I remember were John Astin (also the Riddler), Roddy McDowell (Bookworm), Victor Buono (King Tut), and Vincent Price (Egghead).

Thanks Hunt!!! I have been spending an inordinate amount of time trying to remember that.

I don’t remember any Batman dance, but now that Hunt mentions it, I do remember those villains.

You can google Batusi and check out some google snippets of the dance. What a hoot!

OMG…The Batusi even has it’s own Wiki…

AND…Facebook fan page!!

DH just reminded me that John Travolta did the Batusi in “Pulp Fiction”
