Actually, seems like it would be the other way around – a live virus vaccine could accidentally lead to others in the household being infected with the vaccine virus, which may be a problem if someone in the household is immunocompromised (HIV or otherwise).
Ponchos
@surfcity another fashion item to add to your list: Candies high heel sandals!
Army field jackets, Navy pea coats, sleeveless down vests, and madras shirts.
Painter’s pants
As much as I hate to admit, I was known to wear quite a few minis with pumps and Bobby socks.
Fake fur winter hats (1969-1970) shaped like a bonnet or helmet with a pair of long tie strings ending in a ‘pom’ ball of the same fake fur material.
Looks like this:

Some sort of contraption that looked like a thread spool with 4 nails raised out of the top - you made this long chain with yarn. French knitting?
LOL @Madison85 I initially misread that line and thought it said “porn” ball - I was thinking what the hell is this now?
Playing ‘ding dong ditch’.
Snorkel jackets. Never had one because I thought they were ugly, but they sure were popular.
Staying up to see the digital clock change to 12:34
@surfcity My grandmother always used Prell and I loved trying it when we’d go to visit. It came in a tube and was such a beautiful green color!
Instant coffee, Nestle Quik, Bosco, Ovaltine, Kool Aid, and Moxie.
Moxie was a soft drink bottled in 1884 and outsold Coca-Cola in 1920. Ted Williams was in it’s ad campaign when I was a boy. The taste was medicinal due to ingredients like gentian root, sassafras, caramel, and cinchona. It supposedly cured imbecility, loss of manhood, nervous exhaustion, helplessness, and paralysis. Today it is mainly sold in New England.
Loss of manhood?!
The label used to warn men that if they feel “peakish” for four or more hours to see their pharmacologist. lol.
I know a few prisons where they should serve Moxie at every meal.
It’s not too late to make plans to attend the Moxie Festival in Maine!
