@threeofthree, I loved Johnny Quest, too.
@raclut, we were just talking about slip n slide today. Used to be so much fun to watch the kids around 4th of July
We saw a Sinclair gas station…complete with Dino…in Salt Lake City two years ago! It was a real blast from the past!!
I still get those…at Costco.
@surfcity I remember that transparency thing but it was 70s - I forget we had markers or something.
How about Lavoris? I don’t like mint at all…and I miss that cinnamon flavor mouthwash!
@thumper1 I’ve also seen the GV jeans at Costco within the past year!
Anyone remember the tiger tails that Exxon used to give out as a part of their ad campaign to “put a tiger in your tank”? I still have one from the 80s.

“Remember when the answer to your question wasn’t immediately at your fingertips?”
Feel as though I’m fast approaching the time when the question isn’t even immediately available to my mind.
On Johnny Quest: I loved Hadji.
It all brings to mind…Encyclopedia Brown.
Wooly Willy - it was a picture of a bald guy covered with hard plastic and you used a magnet to move these tiny little metal fragments to his head and face to give him hair. Crazy!
Little plastic square that held 15 moveable tiles numbered 1 through 15. There was one blank space and you had to move the tiles around until you got the numbers in order. I loved that game.
Magic Slate - you pulled up the plastic cover sheet and it erased whatever you wrote on the gray piece of cardboard underneath.
“Little plastic square that held 15 moveable tiles numbered 1 through 15. There was one blank space and you had to move the tiles around until you got the numbers in order. I loved that game.”
I bought a really crappy version of this about 8 years ago for my kids. Cheap plastic, the tiles fell out…
I loved the original!
tinker toys
We were so easily entertained compared to kids and their electronics now.
Trading stamps, such as Blue Chip stamps and S&H Green stamps.
Or just plain stamps. Both my brother and husband collected stamps from around the world as kids and put them in special stamp collecting albums. And they weren’t even nerds!
“How about Lavoris? I don’t like mint at all…and I miss that cinnamon flavor mouthwash!”
Still manufactured in Canada and available on Amazon.
“Running faster and jumping higher” in my Red Ball Jets and PF Flyers.
That is very strange. I’ve lived in Canada for 45 years and have never seen Lavoris in a store.
Now, this can be found at many restaurants all across Canada! Malt vinegar and ‘chips’.
Buster Brown shoes. They had the pic of the little boy and his dog inside the shoe.
Playing Musical Chairs at birthday parties!
