Do you remember..........

When a new David Cassidy album came out (swoon! ha ha). When albums actually were played on stereos! (they are making a come back, according to my son, who owns a turntable and frequents vintage vinyl record stores).

Creepy crawlers. You’d pour goop into a mold to make insects and other critters on a hot plate. We spent hours and hours with those.

Spirograph and bologna sandwiches on wonder bread with miracle whip. Takes me back.

My kids did these, especially the winter of – 1996, I think. One damn blizzard after another. They made hundreds of them.

Roller skates that you put on over your shoes? You may have actually needed a key to adjust them.
Shrinks dinks? You made plastic things and then put them in the oven.
“Wash your face with Happy Face or you’ll get pimples…”
The coolest radio ever - a round, bright colored, AM radio.
Sunday nights with the Wonderful World of Disney.
Some other night, with the Brady Bunch and Partridge Family. (Where did The Courtship of Eddy’s Father fit in?
Nanny and the Professor?

And before Disney, Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom - always the one night we got to eat in front of TV with Chef Boyardee Pizza mix pizza - hamburger (pepperoni was too exotic for us!)

The milkman used to just come right into our house and put the milk in the fridge. His name was Harry.

The Thrill of Victory, and the Agony of Defeat? How many times did you see that skier tumble down the hill on the intro to Wide World of Sports?

" Do you remember Space Food Sticks? I’m guessing late 60s during the astronaut craze. I remember favoring the peanut butter ones. That and Tang "

One of my childhood best friends remembers that my mom used to buy both of those and hers didn’t

Shrinky Dinks

@carolinamom2boys and @musicprnt We still go to the drive-in movies at least once a summer. Double feature. They always show the dancing hot dog concession stand cartoon for the nostalgia effect. Whenever the kids have city friends come visit, we pack up a picnic dinner and make it a group outing. They love it!

I’m loving this! Bologna on wonder bread with miracle whip! All the time. Sunday nights were Wonderful World of Disney while eating grilled cheese and Campbell’s tomato soup, followed by popcorn made in a big cast iron pot.

Sunday nights were Lassie, followed by Wonderful World of Disney, followed by Bonanza. (I couldn’t decide who was handsomer, Adam or Little Joe, ha).

“I’m Hot Dog!” “I’m Peanuts!” “I’m Candy!”
I still remember this was the song they played at Intermissions at the Drive-In. :-"

“The milkman used to just come right into our house and put the milk in the fridge.”

He put his milk and cream in your fridge?

The video I posted they play still but its not the hot dog one. Here’s the hot dog:

Not Hoss, @TatinG?

They still make Shrinky Dinks!

For us, after Wonderful World of Disney was the NBC Sunday Mystery Movie, and I was allowed to stay up to watch it with my dad. On the best nights it was Columbo. McMillan & Wife was our 2nd favorite, and McCloud was OK.

Spoolies!

I miss my own innocence in those days.

Hey Hey we’re the Monkees !
" Dark Shadows" ( I wasn’t allowed to watch because my mother knew I would be scared )
" The Waltons "
I remember Saturday nights watching :" All in the Family", " Bob Newhart " and "Carol Burnett "

Having " cable channels " of 38 and 56 out of Boston. We watched a lot of good old movies on those channels
Also, for any fellow MA residents, there was " Zoom " on PBS and also " Community Auditions " and " Candlepins for Cash "

Does anyone remember a product called Jello 1-2-3 ?
