Yes, please. If you’re going to include pics, include yourself. I don’t care about your pets or your travels, I want to see YOU. But I’m very happy to get cards without pictures that have short personal notes, too. Some of those are the best. What I don’t understand are the commercial photo cards (often without a pic of the sender) with no note on the back, either handwritten or produced with the card, just a photo montage sent out like a commercial mailer. Why bother?
I know I’m in the minority here, but I save each year’s cards. I put a rubber band around them with a post-it noting the year, and they go into a large bin that we store with the tree and ornaments. Every year, I’ll rifle through an archive or two just to see what the years have wrought or remember someone who is no longer with us. This is one bin our son will dump after we’ve gone for sure.
