My grandparents sent a glossy Christmas photocard many decades ago, before it was common. They travelled a lot. I obviously saw my grandparents in person, but I loved their photocards: them in front of the Eiffel Tower, or with palm trees and a beach, and once on the Great Wall of China, when hardly anyone from the West went to China as tourists. Their cards definitely inspired my love of travel.
I’m going to keep sending my charity xmas cards for the foreseeable future. Photo cards aren’t my thing, but I do see why they are so popular.
