If you can figure out the $$$, I think you have a strong chance at northeastern ED.

I think you have a chance at EA at northeastern too- being first gen, immigrant AND top GPAs and rank. FWIW a ton of kids apply to NEU from my kids big HS and while there are plenty of kids who get rejected outright EA with similar GPAs and test scores, but they are probably not first-gen. (School doesn’t rank).

If you apply for anything but CS I think you are going to get in at Umass Amherst - CS is bizarrely competitive last couple of years, so I would say likely, but nothing seems like a lock for CS anymore there - I have seen kids get rejected with top top GPAs and test scores. And Umass is tricky in that you can’t switch in to CS.

That is the right answer. You need an escape if you get in and don’t hit $40k - which unless you have need is not likely.

Ok, let me know how it goes! I’m in the process of writing my essay too, and it is seriously tough to settle on a topic when you literally have 17 or 18 years of experience. Good luck!
