<p>Pretty simple. Almost all lists of words started by culling the words from the older released tests. The problem is that some writers also added words on a whimsical basis, including words that are mostly GRE level. The biggest offender being Barron’s as they simply recycled their GRE list and presented it as a SAT list. </p>
