<p>i think if you can do #5, you can most likely [almost certainly] do #1.</p>

<p>as said, ivy league is a sports league.
nevertheless, the schools part of the league are some of the tops schools in america, so it’s still fair to ‘want to go to an ivy’
but it doesn’t make sense to say “yes, ivy!” or “no, never ivy!” b/c these universities should be defined by the quality of education they provide in the certain fields they specialize in, as should all universities.</p>

<p>then again, i wouldn’t say that ivys should be considered equals w/ other schools, b/c the acceptance rates are low, and they still carry their prestige, so being from an ivy school is still impressive, and will matter somewhat when applying for jobs.</p>

<p>I’m guessing Columbia will be the only Ivy I apply to. I just think there are schools out there that are just as good where you don’t get taught by TA’s half the time.</p>

<p>^pixie. i don’t think so. My wanting to attend harvard has nothing to do with it being in the ivy league. so i say no to the ivy league as a whole, but yes to harvard.</p>
