I second those who say ask as some do regularly wear watches for a variety of reasons…including a preference to using them to tell time rather than pull out their phones while others don’t.
I’ve gone back and forth on this as some work environments I’ve been in were such that I didn’t want to risk damage to my watch. I’ve had one good Seiko watch destroyed by accidentally smashing its face against an offline server tower at work after being pushed into it by a colleague who tripped on something.
Currently wearing another Seiko with a metal band all black instead of bare steel.
